A number of unique website takeovers and experiences were designed by AvatarLabs for the promotion of the film RIO 2 and I provided development support for much of the campaign. For one site in particular, I was tasked with the development of a takeover that was reminiscent of a sticker book experience. It was a “build your own scene” play area for kids that I created using three ad units (one at the top and a left and right side rail) that communicated with each other via a LocalConnect object. Choosing a character (and a side) from the hero unit made the character sticker appear as directed. The sticker could then be dragged into any desired position.
